October 2024 Limping along
OK, so my Drupal site is still at version 7, and frankly, I don't have the bandwidth to deal with a Drupal 8 (or higher) website. So I've restricted edit access on everything to just me, and I'm continuing to use it. The only problem I have right now is that one contextual filter I had previously set up is broken. My projects page is used mostly to track woodworking projects. There's a main page, and individual updatge pages. The update pages are shown in a sidebar block (in a view) on the project page. Prior to my version 7 meltdown in 2022, it worked well. If I picked a project page, the updates related to that project (by the field 'Parent Project') would show up in the sidebar, most recent updates on top. After rebuilding the site, I can't get the contextual filter on project updates to work. It either shows all project updates (for all projects) or it shows none of them.I've actually held off on doing project updates because of this, which is silly. I'm trying to fix it again, but I also have a lot of project updates to post, so I'll work on those and also see if I can fix the contextual filter thing. As far as core and module updates, I'm somewhat reluctant to touch any of them. Mostly what they want me to do now is update and turn things off, which is fucking pointless. I haven't had any security problems since this is a me-only site. And if I do, they'll just get my web content. Big whoop.
